Setsudan

SET01-CD01-cover-250We are pleased to announce that the new Setsudan album ‘Disconnected’ is just about to be released on Rising Records. We have been anticipating this release for a long time and it has been well worth the wait. This is a tour de force of a debut album produced by Krys Bangert on behalf of a band of incredibly talented musicians. Subtle instrumental Progressive Metal with a great dynamic range, you will find your self hearing new elements every time you listen to it. We are in the final stages of mastering and the album will be in production for distribution very shortly. Watch this space and check out their web links for more information.

Dark roadSetsudan was initiated as a musical side project in the summer of 2006, with the aim of creating new progressive/alternative music. It was the brainchild of guitarist Krys Bangert. There followed a significant period of experimentation with Krys exploring changers in material, direction and contributing musicians. Various contributors came and went until in 2008 Krys was joined by Chris Dean. Chris is another talented multi-instrumentalist, whose diverse influences and experiences fitted into the band approach very well and work has quickly progressed on new material.
Chris rapidly settled down playing bass for the line-up.

In late 2010 the project finally became a band with the addition of the superb drummer and percussionist, Rob Richards. That was the catalyst the guys needed to initiate their gigging career.

with face pulling...
Since then Setsudan have pretty much given up looking for a keyboard player and vocalist and have become an instrumental line-up... for now.

The stable nucleus of Krys, Chris and Rob has allowed creativity to flourish and the band has has produced some exciting original progressive music. The band is due to finish their long awaited album this year... watch this space.

We have great hopes for these guys.

Setsudan’s material is an original mix of Prog, Metal, Rock and many other genres. Their live instrumental set is primarily original material with a few selected covers given their own particular arrangements (accompanied by faces pulled by Rob). They are receiving a lot of very favourable critical reviews and the live set is  well worth checking out if you have the opportunity.
